Formula notes

Volume is exact: \(V = \frac{4}{3}\pi a b c\).
Surface area uses the Knud Thomsen approximation with \(p = \ln 3 / \ln 2\). The relative error is below 1.4% for all ellipsoids, and often much smaller for near‑spherical shapes.
