X and Y Intercepts of a Circle – Interactive Calculator

This calculator finds the x- and y-intercepts of a circle given its center and radius.

The standard equation of a circle is

\[ (x - h)^2 + (y - k)^2 = r^2 \]

where \( (h,k) \) is the center of the circle and \( r \) is the radius.

To find the x-intercepts, set \( y = 0 \) and solve for \( x \).

To find the y-intercepts, set \( x = 0 \) and solve for \( y \).

How to Use the Calculator

1. Enter values for \( h \), \( k \), and \( r \), where \( h \) and \( k \) are the coordinates of the center and \( r \) is the radius.
2. Enter the desired number of decimal places.
3. Click Find x-y intercepts.
