Find the GPS Latitude and Longitude Using Google Maps

Discover how to find GPS coordinates—specifically latitude and longitude—using Google Maps on laptops, desktops, and smartphones.

An online calculator to find the distance between two points on Earth is also available.

A - Using a Laptop or Desktop

1. Go to Google Maps.

2. Double-click the location whose latitude and longitude you need to find. The latitude (first) and longitude appear directly in the URL address bar as shown below:

OR

3. Right-click the location on the map. A small information box will display the latitude and longitude at the top:

B - Using a Smartphone

1. Open the Google Maps app or go to Google Maps in your mobile browser.

2. Type the address or location name (e.g., London UK) into the search box, or press and hold anywhere on the map to drop a red pin at the selected location. The latitude and longitude will be displayed in the search box.
